Dorset Christian Business Fellowship

Are you based in the Dorset area?
A new group has started for christian business people to meet up.

I was unable to make the first meeting, but i am told it was very well attended and went well. I will make sure I am at the next one.

If this is of interest the contact details are;
Alan Morgan 01202 602495
Julie Leigh julieleigh@ukonline.co.uk

Their information described the group in this way;
Discover what Christianity, the Bible and God have to say about the issues that affect our businesses.
Fellowship with other Chsitian Business Owners or Managers
Discuss how you can run your business in line with your Christian faith

They are planning to hold meetings on the 4th Monday of every month - maybe see you at a future event.

Using the Internet to promote your business, products, services and self

I have put together an e-book introducing this topic for a local networking group I am part of.
It is only an introduction and meant to be a starting point to inspire you to go and find out more and make the most of the resources available - many are free - to promote what you do.

http://blog.saratogauk.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/01/an-introduction-to-online-promotion-e-book-jan-2007.pdf

Please let me know how you get on if you decide to go ahead and use any ideas in the e-book.

Thanks
Wayne

New Year

It has been a while - Christams and New Year being a time when I tried not to do any work or technology related things. Having 2 children around requiring attention/entertainment/etc made this easier than I expected.
Back at work now. It seems that I am not the only one finding it difficult to get 'back up to speed'. 2nd week back and I am just about working normally again.

It also seems January is a time for many people to look ahead and make plans:
I have been hard at work putting together the marketing plan for Saratoga. If you are interested in technology keep in touch through the Saratoga blog. we have loads of exciting things coming up this year.
I am also taking time to make personal plans. I will endeavour to keep this blog up to date with news and add as many things as possible that may be of interest to you. I am confident the Moordown Baptist Church Mens Group will flourish this year and I am proud to be part of that work. There are other things I want to achieve as well. Watch this space to see how I get on.

I hope you achieve your goals this year.

Electronic business communication - new laws

New rules regarding electronic communications for all Limited companies
Limited companies in the UK must include certain regulatory information on their websites and in their e-mails from 1 January this year or risk breaching the Companies Act 1985. Every company now has to list its registration number, place of registration and registered office address in legible characters on its website. The information must also appear in e-mails and online order forms. This data is already required on business letters but the duty has been extended to websites, order forms and electronic documents by an amendment to the law. Legal news service Out-Law has published a brief guide to the new rules at: http://www.out-law.com/page-7594
To avoid being caught out, why not create a signature for your outgoing e-mails? This will add the required information to every e-mail without any need for you to remember or do anything.
See my entry on the Saratoga Blog for instructions on how to create an e-mail signature.
